A Funny Glimpse Into Spock Costume Uniforms

When my husband and I first decided to transform ourselves into Vulcans for a costume party, we had costumes, props, accessories, and so forth nailed down.

Or so we thought.

You see, my husband can perform the Vulcan salute like a native Vulcan. With both hands, darn him.

But I can’t manage it. You see, my fingers just don’t flex that way.

So after my husband is done laughing his head off at my incompetence, he shares with me the secret that allowed Leonard Nimoy and Zachary Quinto to master the Vulcan salute. Not just “Live Long and Prosper” but “Peace and Long Life” too!

Fishing line. Yes, you heard me right. They used fishing line to strap their unwieldy fingers together. Instant success.

But I’ll tell you that it cuts into your fingers after a little while. LOL.
